For those who didn't know-- AnimeStudio 5 for uhh, free.

I'll download it only to never use it. :B
(p.s.: It's apparently not a trial at all, nor requires a credit card)

Now that I think about it, is it just me, or does FFIV and the YS series have the same, if not highly similar, key item songs?

Anime Expo...and the COMPY OF HELL DOOM SUCKAGE [Jul. 8th, 2009|12:06 am]
Only went for a day this year, and for the most part, wasn't worth it-- it was boring and lonely as no one I knew was going this year(or at least no one that keeps contact with me?). But on a non-personal level, this was easily the best AX so far. The reg lines opened early, they had the foresight to SPLIT the exhibit hall line up, meaning no more waiting a block or more away in the damn sun(now they split it and send it to the other side of the LACC, where it's ALL shade). Staff was all over, and the aisles weren't cramped this year at all.

Sadly, outside of Atlus and NIS(who were giving away more RosenQueen fans, but they were impossible for me to get a hold of), virtually no free stuff. ;-;
I did get a handful of Trauma Team bandage/stickers, though. :D

No Nexon booth, no ADV(2nd year gone), barely a Bandai booth, but a strong Aksys and Capcom presence. Sadly, no free crap from either, so I think they failed. >>

I did make Line Buddies, until they lost me a few hours into Exhibit Hall. Ah well. =/

Met with a fellow guild leader from Mabi, for a whopping 3 minutes, which was eh. But enough letdown shit.

Got my mom Yoshitoshi ABe's Lain artbook for $10(was $40!), Cori a small present(it's cute!), a semi-crappy airsoft gun for a cosplay next year(has a laser sight, though!), and the most epic fucking manga EVAR.

Photobucket

...Fuck yes.

After the shopping, I watched some episodes of Infinite Ryvius and Kiddy Grade(hello, lolinipples), then headed over to catch the Jast USA panel [info]coriyaki wanted me to catch. Since sitting around for a few hours would've been a touch boring to hell, I decided the Real Mecha panel would've been sweet awesomeness. I loved it, but then feared I'd miss Cori's porno game panel as I left and saw the line for the next one. Fortunately, there was a Doujin game panel inbetween them, and most of the line was there for that. >>

Yes, yes I DID nearly miss my girlfriend's porno games for a giant fucking robot. :D She's the man in the relationship

Jast was fun, a ton of double entendres-- and about three times, I nearly won a prize. Spooty ticket was off by a lone digit. ;-;
But, she got her Lightning Warrior Raidy 2 confirmed, Jast announced some super-huge partnership deals(with games I've actually heard of before in legit circles), and we all collected the thank-you gift of $5 off any order.

Altogether, I was at AX from 5:13a.m.-11:20p.m., so that severely wore me out. Somehow managed to make it through work the next day, managed to get my Sunday request off, and surprisingly wasn't scheduled for work this whole week.

Unfortunately, until this morning, my compy was shot to all hell. Started with being unusually slow, then it said the Virtual Memory was too low, and nearly crashed trying on its own to change that. So I fixed that myself, and realized how many damn programs were booting up at the same time(half of which are useless to me now-- I have a wireless router now, so the Nintendo Wi-Fi dongle is virtually useless). Then had to do a 6-hour defrag, followed by a 10-hour virus scan in safe mode(I think it would've been faster in normal boot, but fuck that, I'm paranoid), and a fruitless 8-hour spy sweep. However, everything's been resolved, save one issue-- I think I need to uninstall->reinstall Spy Sweeper, as it was choking on an AOL folder from AIM.

Makes sense, as all spyware sweeps have come up empty in the past few months. I really doubt Comodo, Avast!, and SS are capable of cockblocking so much crap.

Now it's much smooth-running and back to normal, minus Spy Sweeper. I only browse the safest of porns sites, so I'm usually free of the nasty crap. :D

Oh, and game-wise, compy issues led me to blow through a ton of No More Heroes(7th-ranked to 3rd), as well as picking up FF IV: The After Years. Which, battle-wise, makes up for EVERYTHING FF IV sucked at(which was mostly being fun and not artificially cheap).

Life was stagnating for a bit there, but now it's stirring up some-- for the better.

They must be assembling something. [Jun. 29th, 2009|02:14 pm]
-It's sudden, but not entirely surprising that Tito Jackson's lesser-known brother Michael died. When the comatose part was announced, I kept getting flooded with calls. D:

So I played some Tito Jackson's Moonwalker on the Genesis, and he lived.
(but srsly, Michael dies and the Jonas Brothers still have a career? what the shit?)

-And even before then, Farrah died of anal cancer, which must've blew ass. =/

-But the biggest? Billy Mays died in his sleep. That just leaves us with the Brit(Sullivan) and the crackhead former-scientol dude(Offer). We need more odd-sounding guys who can hock inane crap.

-Why the fuck is 93F+ heat called "a beautiful day"? I take it a beautiful day can be any sort of balls-melting hot, so long as none of those evil clouds even faintly appear?

I'll give my job this-- we're all getting low hours, but a lot more help around, so it's making each workday significantly less heatstroke-y. Less stress, too. My mom being on a boat right now means when I'm home alone, I can cool off uhh, with less on. >>

Oh, and they launched a missile from my birthplace.

How the hell am I so worn out. ;_;

But at least I have plenty of LJ to catch up on, and SoulTaker, which finished *COUGH* a few days ago. Actually, I've got quite a few series I need to hurry and commit to disc, as I'm in the danger zone on HDD space.

But first, gotta get some canned air, took a look inside my disc drives and jesus crap. D:

Super congrats to [info]coriyaki for not only passing her MT exam, but utterly destroying it like...well, like so:

(the manga of which she now has to read as part of our deal, 'cause she never expected to get above 95% on the main part, mwahaha!)

Phantasy Star Portable is by far the most surprisingly pleasant game I've ever played. I've never seen such short load times on a PSP title, and the combat controls are just shy of perfect-- only a lack of gun auto-targeting and the mostly useless ability to snipe keep me from gushing.

Complementing it is Dragon Quest V, which is incredible fun. I like how Squeenix purposely kept out any touch-screen input despite looking an awful lot like being made for optional touching, rubbing, and poking. But the best idea? When the game title lowers down, they actually programmed for it to pass in time with the space between the screens. It irks me when DS titles using both screens act ignorant to that blind space. Also, I am surprised by the use of polys on both screens, at what appears to be running around a nice 30fps+. Hell, that upper screen comes in handy, since it makes it easier at times to figure out which direction to go.

Last, but not least, I bought the PaRappa port for the PSP, and have discovered that I fail miserably at it, as my timing is far too fast. I can't even get past Chop Chop Master Onion, since more than two mistakes immediately shoots you down into Bad.

That "Founder's Favorite" pizza from Papa John's? Tastes like unwashed foot covered in malt vinegar.

Cat shit seems more appetizing. D:

In another three weeks...in another three weeks, I'll again get confirmation that this life isn't entirely a hallucination, that there are things possibly beyond what was previously thought. Oh, and someone incredibly cute will be around the corner from me for a little over a week.

...and, if I'm unlucky, in another three weeks I'll be going in for jury duty selection for a criminal case. May need to look over and memorize a list of racial epithets if I just don't wanna be here doesn't work for them.

Oh, and if anyone missed it: http://dailycontributor.com/200904274583/time-names-christopher-moot-poole-the-most-influential-person-in-the-world/

NO IT JUST HAPPENED THAT WAY DAMMIT

It's sexy, but [info]corimyu's gonna be even sexier-looking when she gains Paladin form during this year. And then we can fight each other, and she'll kick my ass all over the place. D:

P.S.: Black Knight form has semi-visible nipples. You can tell by the lighting and extra few polygons making them, as opposed to just making the breasts smooth or simply pointy. Can't see it so well in this pic, though.

P.P.S.: I'm not a pervert, I just studied the armor in detail, I swear. ;-;

Random facts time! [Mar. 29th, 2009|01:02 am]
Vince Offer, the douchebag behind ShamWow...used to be in Scientology. Wait, it gets better-- he didn't leave, he was booted and labeled a Criminal/SP because his film, The Underground Comedy Movie, was so shitty and offensive that they felt it would somehow make the Cult look bad('cause apparently Battlefield Earth was MOST EPIC MOVIE EVER YAHAHA).
